Team India chased down a decent target of 154 in just 10 overs, with eight wickets in hand.

Team India was beyond brilliant as they beat New Zealand in the third T20I in Guwahati by a massive 8 wickets. While chasing 154. Suryakumar Yadav’s team went past the finish line in just 10 overs. While Abhishek Sharma scored 68 from only 20, Surya was 57 from 26, that dented Kiwis hopes.

So, with this, India did create a few records along the way, which were the best among ICC full time members. For starters, India increased their record of most series wins at home. Now they have 10 to their name, starting 2022.The next on the list is Australia, with eight series wins (2006-2010), followed by India (7 in 2019-22), and Pakistan (5 from 2008 to 2018).

If that is not enough, India also has the record for most consecutive series wins overall, that stands at 11 now. Something that started in 2024. They jointly share the record with Pakistan, who created a similar record between 2016-18. India also had records of 7 & 6 series wins at different times — 2017-18, and 2019-21.

Lastly, India now has the record for winning with most balls to spare while chasing targets in excess of 150. The previous record was held by West Indies against South Africa in 2024, followed by England against Pakistan in 2022, And South Africa vs England in (32 balls) in 2016.

As far as the match is concerned, first the Kiwis were reduced to only 153/9 where Jasprit Bumrah picked up three wickets, while Ravi Bishnoi picked 2 on his India comeback. Post that, in the chase, Sanju Samson fell for a golden duck, that considerably reduced his chances of retaining his place in the XI for the T20 World Cup.

Then Ishan Kishan came up with a fiery innings, while Surya and Abhishek just continued with the aggression.
