The sixth-round match of the 2025-26 Ranji Trophy is over. With quarterfinal qualification on the line, all teams were locked in. Most matches came to a conclusion, with one game ending on the second day itself.
Musheer Khan bags maiden 5-fer
It was the Khan brothers who won Mumbai their sixth match of the season against Hyderabad. Sarfaraz Khan won the ‘player of the match’ for his double hundred, 227 runs, as Mumbai batted just once. But it was his younger brother, Musheer Khan, who stole the limelight on the final day.
The left-arm spinner claimed just one wicket in the first innings as Hyderabad scored just 267. Mumbai, who had put 560 on board, enforced the follow-on. Musheer shone bright, claiming his maiden 5-wicket haul, including dismissing Nitish Kumar Reddy for a duck. Hyderabad set a 10-run target, which Mumbai chased in 3.2 overs.
MP thrash Karnataka
Karnataka have been displaced as table toppers in Group B. After Madhya Pradesh dismantled their batting lineup, they have moved to the second spot, with Maharashtra moving to the top. Needing 362 to win the match on the final day, MP dismissed Karnataka for just 144. Devdutt Padikkal bagged a pair, getting dismissed for a 2-ball duck in the second innings as Aryan Pandey bowled him.
Twin hundreds for Ayush Doseja
Ayush Doseja has turned out to be a revelation for Delhi. The left-handed batter had smashed a double hundred on his Ranji Trophy debut and hasn’t looked back since. Doseja scored 5 fifties in his next 4 matches, and upon resumption of the tournament, he has smashed two hundreds in a match.
He remained unbeaten on 104 as Delhi was dismissed on 216. Facing an innings defeat as Chhattisgarh put 505 on board, Doseja scored 129 in the second innings as Delhi got 422 in the second innings. The match ended in a draw, with Chhattisgarh gaining points due to their first-innings lead.
