Top run-scorers in BBL history

Chris Lynn has been the leading run-scorer in the T20 league, amassing 4086 runs so far across 15 seasons.

With Australian cricket in full bloom, the country is also witnessing the 15th edition of its premier T20 league, the Big Bash League (BBL). Reckoned as one of the most exciting leagues in the world, the T20 tournament has offered some thrilling matches with in one of the most engaging fashion and amp ups with every season. While the franchise cricket league has seen all-round performances, many batters have etched their names with their consistent performances.

Here in this article, we bring to you the top run-scorers in the BBL history, with some of them simply bringing their A-game with their clean stroke play.

  • 5. Marcus Stoinis

36-year-old versatile batter and a medium-pace bowler, Marcus Stoinis has established a dominant presence in the BBL. Making his BBL debut in 2012-13 season, Marcus Stoinis has been a consistent performer for one of his two franchises, Melbourne Stars. Having played 13 seasons, including the BBL 2025-26, Stoinis has scored over 3000 runs in the league with his highest score of unbeaten 147 coming against Sydney Sixers at the MCG.

The Portugal-born Australian all-rounder, Moises Henriques might not have been a consistent performer for Australia, but continues to shine for his BBL franchise, the Syndey Sixers. Having played for the Sixers since the league’s inception, Moises Henriques is the fourth highest run-scorer, having scored 3249 runs across 148 matches at a strike rate of 128.82.

  • 3. Glenn Maxwell

Australian hard-hitter and batting all-rounder, Glenn Maxwell too finds himself among the top run-getters, having amassed 3285 runs so far in the T20 league. Having featured in two different franchise colours in BBL history, Maxwell sits third on the list with highest score of unbeaten 154 across his 125 matches.

Former Australia captain, Aaron Finch must have retired from the prestigious T20 league, but continues to be on the leaderboard as the second highest run-getter. During his BBL stint from 2011 to 2024, he scored 3311 runs with his highest score of 111*, striking at the rate of 131.12.

Having featured in all seasons so far in the BBL history, Australian batter Chris Lynn leads the charts as the top run-getter. The 35-year-old, who has amassed over 4000 runs in BBL history, having played for two franchises thus far, broke the record in 2018-19 season as he took over from Brendon McCullum as captain of Brisbane Heat. So far in 2025-26, Lynn has appeared in all seven games for his Adelaide Strikers franchise, amassing 131 runs (at the time of writing).
