The BCCI has answered questions related to Mustafizur Rahman. The squad for the ODI series against New Zealand will be out in a couple of days, with Mohammed Shami, Dhruv Jurel, and Devdutt Padikkal as the major talking points. Sarfaraz Khan has been asked to bat in the middle order for CSK.

BCCI speaks on Bangladesh players
In an exclusive conversation with InsideSport, the BCCI has confirmed that Mustafizur Rahman will play the IPL 2026 season. All Bangladesh players and coaches will be granted visas for the T20 World Cup 2026, which India is co-hosting with Sri Lanka. In Mustafizur’s case, his visa will be extended for IPL. However, fans and journalists could face issues with visas. The BCCI is trying to make sure that no problem arises in granting visas to all Bangladeshi nationals.

India ODI squad vs NZ date
BCCI will hold a meeting to select India’s squad for the New Zealand ODI series on January 3. The training camp for preparations will be held on January 7 in Vadodara, the venue for the first ODI. Rishabh Pant and Dhruv Jurel will be talking points, with one of them expected to be dropped.

Shami comeback?
Mohammed Shami could return to India’s ODI team for the New Zealand series. Although the veteran pacer hasn’t played for the Men in Blue since March, he isn’t out of the reckoning. His fitness was the issue before, but Shami has been playing domestic cricket for Bengal without any injuries or niggles.

Sarfaraz Khan in CSK XI?
Sarfaraz Khan has broken Rohit Sharma’s record for the fastest List A hundred for Mumbai. Playing against Goa, Sarfaraz struck a 56-ball hundred and ended up with 157 (75). This prompted Ravichandran Ashwin to say that CSK should play Sarfaraz as the middle-order spin hitter.

Another hundred for Padikkal
Devdutt Padikkal has scored his third List A century in the last four matches. The batter from Karnataka now averages a whopping 82.56 in the format. If Shreyas Iyer isn’t fit for selection, there could be a scenario where BCCI hands him his maiden India ODI call-up in the New Zealand series.

Jurel focusing on process, not results
Amid reports suggesting that he continue over Rishabh Pant as India’s backup wicketkeeper in ODIs, Dhruv Jurel has opened up about his mindset. Having scored one hundred and two fifties in VHT, Jurel talked about following his process and not focusing on results. He just looks to work hard and hopes things will turn out well.
