In what comes as a massive blow to WPL 2026, and RCB, their main all-rounder Ellyse Perry has withdrawn from next year’s tournament due to personal reasons. Instead, the franchise has named Sayali Satghare as the replacement. On the other hand, another Aussie all-rounder Annabel Sutherland has also taken her name back from the WPL; she was bagged by the Delhi Capitals at WPL auction 2026 for 2.2 Cr.
Ellyse Perry Out for RCB, Annabel Sutherland for DC
DC too named a replacement, and got leg-spinner Alana King on board. She had an excellent World Cup campaign, where she not only picked wickets in truckloads, but also scored some valuable runs down the order. Meanwhile, the news is still unconfirmed, but it seems that Perry sustained a hip injury.
She has been an excellent resource for the team, and played a huge role in their 2024 WPL triumph. In 25 matches, she has scored 972 runs at an average of 64 and a strike-rate over 130. That includes five 50s as well. In bowling, she has picked 14 wickets at an economy of 8.25.
Tara Norris Out for UP Warriorz
If one talks about Annabel Sutherland, she has been excellent too. For the last two seasons she was with the Delhi franchise and had decent returns there. As for Alana, she went unsold at the WPL auction, but will have a lot to offer to her new franchise. She picked up 13 wickets in 7 matches only, and hit a 50 vs Pakistan, when the chips were down.
US left-arm pacer Tara Norris has pulled out of the tournament due to national duty. She has been picked for the 2026 T20 World Cup qualifier; a big loss for UP Warriorz. AUS all-rounder Charli Knott has been named as the replacement.
