Multiple long-time creators announced their exits around Christmas Day. Notable names include FaZe Adapt after 14 years, FaZe Rug after 13 years, Swagg, Stable Ronaldo, JasonTheWeen, Lacy, Silky, and YourRage. They shared short posts on social media, with some saying the move hurt but was needed.
Reasons Behind Split
The exits followed failed contract talks with new management under investor Matt Kalish and HardScope. Creators wanted better terms on revenue, control, and ownership after GameSquare acquired FaZe. Past issues like layoffs and a drop in stock value added to the strain.
FaZe Esports Stays Strong
FaZe esports runs separately and faces no changes. Teams in games like CS2 will keep competing, with GameSquare handling operations. The group plans to grow this side as its main focus now.
Fans called it the end of an era, with the FaZe website going offline showing “FaZe Forever 2010 – forever.” The statement wished ex-members well as creators and people, noting the family-like bond. A few creators like ZooMaa remain, but the content house era is over.
