Vijay Hazare Trophy: InsideSport takes a look a some of the little-known players who could steal the limelight in the second round of the tournament.

If one has to put it in simple terms, the first round of the Vijay Hazare Trophy was a major hit, with the likes of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Devdutt Padikkal and Ishan Kishan getting tons. There were a few decent bowling performances too; but largely it was a show run by the batters. Now come the second round on December 26, a few players will certainly be under the spotlight as well.

Yash Dubey (MP)

There is a possibility, one might not have heard about Dubey. He is one of more consistent performers in the LIST A for MP and in the first round scored 103 vs Rajasthan. In 33 matches, he has scored 1528 runs at an average of 53, with four tons and eight fifties. He could set the stage on fire this year.

Ramakrishna Ghosh (Maharashtra)

The all-rounder isn’t one of those who got a 100 in the first round, but then he did get a 73 and also picked up three wickets. He was with CSK last year, but did not get a chance to play. Maybe, he can come up with substantial performances in the rounds to come.

Shahbaz Ahmed (Bengal)

He really isn’t in the little-known category, but certainly been forgotten it seems. He scored 71 in the first match Vidarbha, and could be a handy all-rounder. In 51 List A matches he has scored 1093 runs at an average of 40 and has picked up 62 wickets to go with that.

Arzan Nagwaswalla (Gujarat)

For reasons unknown, he has never played for India despite being a decent left-arm pacer. In the opening match vs Services, he returned with figures of 4/34. His record speaks volumes of his prowess; has picked up 83 wickets in 46 matches for his state.
