Vaibhav Suryavanshi's childhood coach opined that the youngster was ready to break into the Indian T20I side, given his current form.

India U19 cricket team star Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s coach has backed his entry into the Indian T20I and ODI team in the near future, noting that he is ready for it. The 14-year-old has been in red-hot form, especially in white-ball cricket, over the past year and has impressed with his performances with the bat. To date, only three 14-year-olds have made their debut in senior men’s international cricket and Vaibhav will be the fourth if he gets the chance in the near future.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s T20I debut coming soon?

Speaking to India Today, Suryavanshi’s childhood coach Manish Ojha opined that the youngster was ready to break into the Indian T20I side, given his current form. Vaibhav’s childhood coach justified his claim by noting that the 14-year-old had played brilliantly in the IPL while facing world class bowlers. The coach’s remarks came after the RR opener’s 171-run knock against UAE in the U19 Asia Cup 2025 game against UAE last week.

In my opinion, he’s absolutely ready, at least for the Indian T20 team, Look at the IPL — most bowlers he faced were international bowlers, and the rest were top domestic bowlers. He was executing his shots beautifully against them,” Ojha said.

Further, the childhood coach claimed that Vaibhav was 100% ready for international cricket, adding that he could handle the pressure with ease. He noted that Suryavanshi had played in the Rising Star Asia Cup alongside experienced candidates like Jitesh Sharma, noting that he had delivered standout performances. After all, Suryavanshi has witnessed a meteoric rise over the past year, from bagging an IPL contract with RR to impressing with his fiery performances for India U19, and in other tournaments as well.

He’ll handle it easily. He was part of the Rising Stars Asia Cup, and even there, he stood out. He played with some established India stars in the team led by Jitesh Sharma, but didn’t he stand out? I’m 100% sure he’ll handle the pressure at the international level as well,” Ojha added.
