Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has revealed the dates for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026 season. Accompanied by 6 current Pakistan cricketers, Shan Masood, Salman Ali Agha, Saim Ayub, Saud Shakeel, Faheem Ashraf, and Abrar Ahmed, and legends Wasim Akram and Ramiz Raza, in a roadshow for the PSL in New York, Naqvi confirmed the tournament will be played from March 26 to May 3 in 2026.
PSL 2026 dates are out
Last year, the PCB changed the PSL window from February-March to April-May. The reason behind the shift was the 2025 Champions Trophy, which Pakistan co-hosted with the UAE. However, PCB has decided to stick with the same window. This time around, the reason is the 2026 T20 World Cup, which will be played in February-March.
“A lot of investors here asked us about the timeline of the PSL. So, I can tell you one thing: that the PSL 11 will start on March 26, and we are planning to hold the final on May 3,” Naqvi was quoted, as per GeoSuper.
Franchise auction delayed
Recently, the PCB confirmed the addition of 2 new teams. Taking the number of franchises from 6 to 8. But the process has been delayed a bit. The franchise auction was scheduled to take place on January 6 but has been postponed to January 8, as PCB has decided to extend the deadline for bid submission.
“Witnessing growing interest from Europe, the USA, the Middle East and beyond in acquiring new HBL PSL teams, we have decided to extend the bid submission deadline by one week to 22 December 2025. Good luck to everyone excited to welcome our new franchise owners to the HBL PSL family,” Naqvi wrote on X.
