The BCCI is yet to reveal India squad for the upcoming T20I series vs SA, which gets underway on December 9 in Cuttack. And as usual, the question is, who comes in, and who goes out. There are a few regulars in the team who would surely be there, but a few doubtful names remain.
That said, the announcement is said to be made on Wednesday, after the IND vs SA 2nd ODI in Raipur, as per reports. So, InsideSport takes a look at the predicted India squad for South Africa T20Is.
Hardik Pandya set for comeback
All reports suggest that all-rounder Hardik Pandya is all set for a comeback after an injury during the Asia Cup, earlier in the year. He is a valuable asset to the team, and even appeared in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy for Baroda on Tuesday, where he picked up a wicket and also scored 77 runs. That means Nitish Kumar Reddy stays out of the team.
Choice between Yashasvi Jaiswal & Shubman Gill
There is no clarity on Gill’s fitness currently, after he suffered a neck injury during the first Test against South Africa in Kolkata. If he is fit, he is a certainty, while if he is not, Yashasvi Jaiswal gets a chance; it’s clear. That effectively means that Sanju Samson would be seen in the opening role again, if the second scenario happens.
Possibility of Riyan Parag getting a chance
As per a report in Cricinfo, Assam all-rounder Riyan Parag has a chance of making the cut. If that happens, Washington Sundar or Rinku Singh miss out. That only shows the kind of bench-strength India has, with these players doing no wrong, and still under the threat of being left out.
Predicted India Squad for SA T20Is
Suryakumar Yadav (Captain), Abhishek Sharma, Subman Gill or Yashasvi Jaiswal, Tilak Varma, Shivam Dube, Hardik Pandya, Sanju Samson, Jitesh Sharma, Axar Patel, Arshdeep Singh, Varun Chakaravarthy, Jasprit Bumrah, Harshit Rana, Kuldeep Yadav, Riyan Parag.
