Smriti Mandhana’s wedding postponed
As per India Today, the cricketer’s wedding has been postponed indefinitely after her father was rushed to a hospital on Sunday in Sangli. Smriti’s manager stated that the star did not wish to proceed with the wedding amid the family emergency. Mandhana’s manager informed that the star’s father is currently under observation and that various tests are being conducted in the hospital.
“Mandhana was very clear that in these circumstances she did not want to get married, which is why the decision has been taken to postpone the wedding indefinitely,” Smriti’s manager Tuhin Mishra told the publication.
Mandhana had recently confirmed her engagement to Muchhal via a video on social media. Many of her teammates including Jemimah Rodrigues and Shreyanka Patil were a part of the wedding festive which had been taking place over the last couple of days.
Smriti finished as the leading run-getter for India and the second overall in the Women’s World Cup 2025, with 434 runs at an average of 54.25, scoring one century and two half-centuries. Rodrigues, who was India’s saviour in the semi-final against Australia with her spirited 127-run knock, has been named number 3 in the team of the tournament.
