The WPL 2026 auction is set to take place in Delhi on November 27, and by now, all teams must have made plans for the big event. This year, it happens to be the mega auction, where all the teams will, in a way, build their squads from scratch, retaining just a handful of players.
At the recent WPL retention list announcement, there were a few surprises — where Renuka Singh Thakur and Deepti Sharma entered the auction. Meg Lanning, who led DC in the first three seasons was also released. GG just retained Aussie veterans Beth Mooney and Ash Gardener. In short, the entire team would be built around them.
So, it becomes imperative to look at the batters that Gujarat Giants can target at WPL 2026 Auction:
Batters GG should bid for at WPL auction
Kiran Navgire: Either she will give a blistering start at the top of the order, or will fail in that quest. There is just one way this batter plays, which reflects in her numbers too. IN 25 WPL matches, she has only scored 419 runs, but has three fifties to her name. Her strike-rate is a staggering 140.
Pratika Rawal: Surprise, surprise. One of India’s best batters at the Women’s World Cup, Pratika has never played in the WPL. But if she enters the Auction, she should be on GG’s radar. She could give the stability to the team at the top of the order.
Danii Wyatt: She was released by RCB after the 2024-25 season, and GG should go for her. She is a batter, whose strike-rate is in 120s. IN WPL, she has one fifty to her name.
