The move to trade Sanju Samson for Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran could reportedly be completed in a couple of days, as per reports. A couple of days earlier, it was confirmed that CSK were willing to trade the veteran all-rounder for the keeper-batter while they denied adding Dewald Brevis as a part of the deal. Reports have now stated that the trade talks between CSK and RR are on track and the process could be completed in 48 hours.
Sanju Samson-Jadeja trade talks on track
As per Cricbuzz, CSK and RR have initiated the process for trade involving Samson and Jadeja and that the entire process could take 48 hours to formalise. The report states that neither the BCCI or the IPL authorities were informed, as of Monday, by either franchises about the trade. The report states that consent has been taken from Samson, Jadeja and Curran, and that an Expression of Interest process has been initiated.
“Consent has been obtained from all three players and the Expression of Interest process has been initiated. All three have signed on the dotted line, but the process will take some time to culminate,” a franchise official said
The report states that the franchises will have to get a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) for Sam Curran. Samson and Jadeja were retained by RR and CSK for Rs 18 crore respectively ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. Both players have been associated with their respective teams for a long time now.
“A team willing to start a trade is required to record an Expression of Interest and it has to be submitted to the BCCI, which will then correspond with the relevant franchises. The process takes 48 hours. Besides, the franchises are at liberty to renegotiate the price (see the rules below) and there are relevant clauses on a trade with negotiated increase and negotiated decrease,” the report stated.
