UP Warriorz (UPW) had decided to start afresh. After finishing 4th in 2024 and 5th in 2025, the Warriorz have decided to build an entirely new team for the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 season. After retaining just 1 player and that too an uncapped player, Shweta Sehrawat, the Warriorz will go hard at the auction with a massive INR 14.50 crore purse.
5 batters UP Warriorz should target in WPL 2026 mega auction
To begin with, UPW will have to find gun batters. Since the franchises couldn’t retain more than 5 players, they’ll have a lot of options at the auction table. On top of that list will be Phoebe Litchfield. The Australian batter usually bats in the middle order in T20s, and although she didn’t have the best WPL last year, she was one of the best batters in the world with the ability to play shots all over the park.
| Batter | Type | Price (2025) | WPL 2025 stats |
|---|---|---|---|
| Phoebe Litchfield | Middle order batter | INR 1.00 crore | 91 runs at 18.20 & strike rate of 135.82 |
| Yastika Bhatia | Opener | INR 1.50 crore | 88 runs at 9.77 & strike rate of 101.14 |
| Kiran Navgire | Top order batter | INR 30.00 lakh | 154 runs at 19.25 & strike rate of 173.03 |
| Harleen Deol | Middle order batter | INR 40.00 lakh | 232 runs at 38.66 & strike rate of 120.83 |
| Laura Wolvaardt | Opener | INR 30.00 lakh | 32 runs at 10.66 & strike rate of 78.04 |
Next would be Kiran Navgire, the hard-hitting batter who recently scored the fastest T20 hundred. Yastika Bhatia and Harleen Doel would be hot commodities as well. Although Yastika has been struggling with injuries, she was one of the best batters for the Mumbai Indians (MI) Women, while Doel had a decent season for the Gujarat Giants in 2025.
Laura Wolvaardt doesn’t have the most distinguished T20 record, but her World Cup exploits will certainly make her one of the most sought-after openers. She plays well against spin and pace. Wolvaardt also has leadership skills, as we saw for South Africa.
