Even though India A went on to win against South Africa A by three wickets in the first Test, but there are areas for the hosts, that can be improved upon for sure. Batting by Sai Sudharsan emerged as a concern, and so did it for Devdutt Padikkal and Ayush Badoni, who are regular performers in domestic cricket.
Thursday will witness the start of the second IND A vs SA A Test at CoE, Bengaluru, and it remains to be seen if skipper Rishabh Pant would opt for any changes or not. In the meantime, InsideSport looks at the IND A predicted XI vs SA A for 2nd Test.
Chance to India Test Starters
Now, the South Africa Test series is just 10 days away, so it is imperative to give Test regulars a chance. So, obviously KL Rahul comes in as the opener for Ayush Mhatre, while Abhimanyu Easwaran opens with the Bengaluru batter. Sudharsan comes back to no. 3, and this is how the top order would look like.
In Comes Ruturaj Gaikwad
The CSK skipper has displayed excellent form in the first two Ranji Trophy matches for Maharashtra, where he has scored 91, 55, 116, and 36. His FC average is also placed at 45, which is good enough for him to get a match in the IND A side. Though it is unlikely that he will get a Test call up anytime soon.
Match-time for Kuldeep, Siraj & Akash Deep
Despite being in the Australia series, Kuldeep Yadav was called for the IND A match, that means he is playing here, and then subsequently in the Test series too. With him, Siraj, Prasidh Krishna and Akash Deep are likely to play as well. That makes it a decent-looking XI vs SA A.
IND A Predicted XI vs SA A for 2nd Test
KL Rahul, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Sai Sudharsan, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Rishabh Pant(w/c), Harsh Dubey, Tanush Kotian, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, Akash Deep.
