Only a handful of round 3 matches of the Ranji Trophy 2025-26 season finished with a result.

The third round of matches in the 2025-26 Ranji Trophy season has ended. With winter upon us and bad light play disrupting several matches, leading to lost time and drawn matches. Rain also ruined some games. But still, there were enough noteworthy performances and moments.

Suryavanshi misses maiden century

Vaibhav Suryavanshi continued to play an attacking brand of cricket after his low score against Arunachal Pradesh. Only 166 overs’ worth of play happened in the Bihar vs Meghalaya match, but Suryavanshi managed to score. After Meghalaya declared at 408/7, the 14-year-old came out all guns blazing and scored 93 from 67. Falling just 7 runs short of his maiden first-class hundred, Suryavanshi scored at a 138.81 strike rate and hit 13 boundaries (9 fours and 4 sixes).

Jaiswal goes big

After missing out on a hundred in the first innings of the Rajasthan vs Mumbai match, Yashasvi Jaiswal scored a daddy hundred in the second innings. Trailing by 363 runs, Jaiswal smashed 156 runs from 174 balls. While the game ended in a draw, he ensured Mumbai didn’t lose on the final day. Musheer Khan, Jaiswal’s opening partner, also scored a fifty.

Shami gets no wickets against Tripura

After taking 7 and 8 wickets in his previous two matches, Mohammed Shami failed to take a wicket against Tripura. Although he bowled just once, all the others managed to get themselves registered on the board. Shami’s younger brother, Mohammed Kaif, ended up being the best bowler for Bengal in the drawn match.

Arpit Rana & Sanat Sangwan ton up

After conceding a trail of 187 against Pondicherry, Delhi knew they had probably missed out on getting 3 valuable points. But they could still do some good for themselves. Openers Arpit Rana and Sanat Sangwan batted the entire last day, scoring 321 in 81 overs. Arpit ended unbeaten on 170 and Sanat on 122. Sanat now leads the run-scoring charts in the Ranji Trophy with scores of 211*, 56, 79, 1, 99 and 122*.
