Each passing day brings a new rumour for IPL 2026 trade. Now, it seems that the trade between RR and DC is almost final — with Sanju Samson coming to Delhi, in place of Tristan Stubbs, as per a report in the Times of India. But that might not be the only IPL trade that is on the cards for DC.
KL Rahul in the mix for KKR?
The report further suggests that KKR is interested in getting KL Rahul from Delhi. But here the problem that arises is, Kolkata might not have a player that DC might be keen on getting. Yes, there are likes of Rinku Singh and Angkrish Raghuvanshi, but given their prowess, Shah Rukh Khan-owned team might not let that happen.
Similarly, all-rounders Andre Russell and Sunil Narine are too valuable for them, who have served them for years; DC might also look for someone young. As for Venkatesh Iyer, the doors for any kind of trade could be shut, after a poor IPL 2025 season, where he was bagged for INR 23.75 Cr.
No takers for Venkatesh Iyer
In addition, Kolkata is most-likely to press hard for Cameron Green in the IPL 2026 auction — and their purse after releasing Iyer, might allow them to do just that. Mind you, KKR has a lot of work this season, since the team under Ajinkya Rahane failed big time, and did not reach the playoffs also.
