Yashsvi Jaiswal enjoyed a good outing on his return to Ranji Trophy as he slammed a blistering half-century for Mumbai in the game against Rajasthan. The India cricket team opener was last seen in action in the series against the West Indies where he scored a magnificent 175-run knock in the 2nd Test in Delhi. Jaiswal’s fifty for Mumbai on his return to domestic cricket comes just before the IND vs SA Test series at home which will begin from November 14 onwards.

Jaiswal finished his 1st innings for 67 runs off 97 deliveries in the game against Rajasthan on Day 1 of round 3 Ranji Trophy 2025/26 matches. He struck 8 fours and one six during the course of his innings, maintaining his aggressive outlook in the longest format of the game. Yashasvi stitched together a 100-run opening partnership along with Musheer Khan to provide the perfect start for Mumbai. His innings eventually came to an end as he was caught out by Rathore off Choudhary.
Jaiswal’s innings was studded with 23 singles, 3 doubles, 8 fours and one six. His ability to play attacking cricket was on full display once again as he managed to keep his scoreboard ticking despite facing 62 dot deliveries in the course of his 97-ball innings.
Unlike other Test regulars, Jaiswal has not been included in the India A squad for the series against South Africa A which serves as preparation for the IND vs SA series. He will instead grind it out in the Ranji Trophy matches before appearing directly for the two-match Test series.
Jaiswal has enjoyed a meteoric rise in Test cricket since his debut in 2023 and has cemented his spot as India’s first-choice opener.
