Asia Cup trophy coming to India?

The Asia Cup drama continues. More than a month after India won the tournament, the BCCI has yet to receive the trophy. BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia has provided an update on the matter, stating that they wrote a letter to ACC Chairman Mohsin Naqvi 10 days ago and expect the Asia Cup trophy to arrive in Mumbai in a couple of days.

Abhishek Sharma ‘happy’ after losing MCG ODI

Although Abhishek Sharma performed exceptionally, India lost at MCG owing to a masterful spell from Josh Hazlewood. During the post-match press conference, Abhishek got to know that the pacer won’t take further part in the series as preparation for the Ashes. Asked whether he feels relieved that he won’t play Hazlewood, Abhishek said, ‘Obviously.’

Arshdeep Singh treated unfairly

Ravichandran Ashwin isn’t pleased that Arshdeep Singh, India’s highest wicket-taker in T20Is, hasn’t been a regular since the 2024 T20 World Cup. Two matches into the Australia series, Arshdeep hasn’t played. Ashwin added that after Jasprit Bumrah, the left-arm pacer has to be the first name on the sheet and that he isn’t fighting for a place with Harshit Rana.

Harshit Rana silenced his critics at the MCG in the India vs Australia 2nd T20I. With the team 49/5, the pacer was promoted over Shivam Dube and scored 35 from 33 balls. This was the second-highest score of the day for India and showed everyone why Indian management views him as a potential all-rounder.

Hundred introduces auction

After IPL franchise owners have acquired stakes in 4 teams, the ECB has decided to introduce an IPL-like auction instead of the draft which has taken place since the tournament began in 2021. However, teams will be allowed to directly sign 2 overseas and centrally contracted English players.
