Rajasthan Royals will be looking to make amends to their squad after a 9th-placed finish in IPL 2025. Missing out on the services of captain Sanju Samson in 5 games, the one-time champions had a season to forget, with Riyan Parag and co. struggling to find the right balance across departments. Nevertheless, from a batting point of few, RR enjoyed a good season – with the likes of Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Parag living up to the expectations.
November 15 is the deadline to finalize the retentions for the franchises, which means RR have less than 20 days to decide on chops and changes. As per reports, the IPL 2026 mini-auction will be held in the December 13-15 window. Ahead of the deadline, let’s take a look at RR’s potential retention list before IPL 2026.
Predicted RR retention list for IPL 2026
Vaibhav Suryavanshi: Being the youngest player in IPL history, the 14-year-old showed promising signs, amassing 252 runs from 7 games at an average of 36. There is no doubt that he is the future of the franchise and that he will be retained no matter what.
Yashasvi Jaiswal: A future captain material, the southpaw emerged as RR’s highest run-getter in IPL 2025, with 559 runs to his name, including six half-centuries. He is here to stay and is surely RR’s opener in the future along with Suryavanshi.
Riyan Parag: The Assam batter is all but confirmed to be RR’s captain in the future, given all the talks surrounding Sanju Samson’s release. He scored 393 runs and bagged 3 wickets from 14 games in IPL 2025.
Dhruv Jurel: Another certain retention is the keeper-batter, who has been consistent for RR and has been improving with each passing year. He registered his best figures in IPL 2025, amassing 333 runs from 14 matches.
Shubham Dubey: Although he had a poor outing in IPL 2025 despite featuring in 9 matches, RR won’t mind retaining the batter in their squad.
Lhuan-Dre Pretorius: The South African sensation was signed for Rs 30 lakh as an injury replacement in IPL 2025. Although the big-hitter got no games in IPL 2025, he is likely to be retained by RR.
Kunal Rathore: Another domestic talent who got just one game in IPL 2025, failed to open his account but is bound to be retained by RR.
Yudhvir Singh Charak: A promising young all-rounder who managed to get 4 wickets in four games in IPL 2025. Besides, he is the only legitimate all-rounder that RR boast of in their squad at present.
Jofra Archer: Having being bought for a whooping Rs 12.50 crore, the England pacer impressed with his fiery pace in IPL 2025. He managed to take 11 wickets from 12 matches, establishing himself as the pace spearhead for RR in the future.
Akash Madhwal: The bowler got limited opportunities in IPL 2025, featuring in just 4 games where he took as many number of wickets. Yet, because of the lack of options that RR have, he might just be retained.
Kumar Karthikeya Singh: Another RR pacer who impressed in the limited games that he got in IPL 2025.
Tushar Deshpande: Considered one of RR’s big buys in IPL 2025 auction, the pacer moved from CSK to the Royals for Rs 6.5 crore. Although he finished with 9 wickets from 10 matches, RR won’t mind retaining him, especially since he returned to action in IPL 2025 after being on the sidelines for nearly a year.
Fazalhaq Farooqi: The Afghanistan star was underutilized in IPL 2025 and will be hoping that RR give him more chances in IPL 2026.
Kwena Maphaka: The young South African pacer featured in just two games in IPL 2025 where he got 1 wicket but is a promising talent that RR won’t mind retaining.
Ashok Sharma: An uncapped Indian talent that RR won’t mind having in their squad as a back-up pacer.
