Playing for UP Warriorz, Kiran Navgire scored 154 runs in 8 innings at WPL 2025. However, her strike rate (173) was one of the best in the league.

In a display audacious hitting rarely seen in women’s cricket, India’s Kiran Navgire stormed her way into the record books with the fastest-ever century in women’s T20 history. Representing Maharashtra in the BCCI’s Senior Women’s T20 Trophy in Nagpur, Navgire reached her hundred in just 34 balls before finishing unbeaten on 106 off 35 deliveries.

Maharashtra, chasing 111 against Punjab, sealed victory in just eight overs. The astonishing part? During her 103-run unbeaten stand with Mukta Magre, Navgire accounted for nearly all the scoring, hammering 14 fours and seven sixes. Her strike rate of 302.86 not only made it the fastest century but also the only women’s T20 hundred ever scored at a rate exceeding 300. The record eclipsed New Zealand star Sophie Devine’s 36-ball ton in 2021 for Wellington, which had stood as the global benchmark for over four years.

Kiran Navgire deserves another chance

Hailing from Mire village in Maharashtra’s Solapur district, Navgire’s story is inspiring. A farm girl who spent her childhood helping her family in the fields, she often credits her power-hitting to those years of physical labour. Before making headlines in domestic cricket, she first rose to fame in the 2022 Women’s T20 Trophy for Nagaland, where she smashed 35 sixes across the tournament and scored a monumental 162 off 76 balls, which is the highest individual T20 score by an Indian woman.

An ardent admirer of MS Dhoni, Navgire carries the same fearless approach. Despite making her T20I debut in 2022, her international opportunities have been limited, with just six appearances for India so far. However, her exploits for UP Warriorz in the Women’s Premier League (WPL), where she strikes at over 140, have counted on her reputation of being one of the most attacking players in Indian women’s circuit.
