The 91st edition of the Ranji Trophy is here. The most premier domestic tournament of Indian cricket these days is regularly in the news after the BCCI cracked a whip on the international stars. In the current time frame, every cricketer, if fit and available, should play domestic cricket and thus the star power of the Ranji Trophy has doubled.
In the first round of the Ranji Trophy 2025-26, you would see multiple household names. It is Sanju Samson (Kerala) vs Ruturaj Gaikwad and Prithvi Shaw (Maharasthra), Karun Nair and Devdutt Padikkal (Karnataka) vs Jaydev Unadkat (Saurashtra). Meanwhile, Mohammed Shami, Akash Deep, Ishan Kishan, Ajinkya Rahane, Sarfaraz Khan and many other stars are also dazzling the tournament.
A total of 38 teams (32 Elite and 6 Plate Group) have started to battle it out in the tournament that is split into two halves. The tournament will follow a two-phase format, similar to last season. The opening leg runs from October 15 to November 19, followed by a break for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (November 26–December 18) and Vijay Hazare Trophy (December 26–January 18). The Ranji Trophy will then resume with the final two rounds of league matches from January 22 to February 1, 2026, before the knockout stages begin. The final is scheduled for February 28, 2026.
Ranji Trophy live streaming details
However, not all of the 19 matches are being streamed live by the BCCI. As a matter of fact, only three out of the 19 games are being televised and live streamed by the BCCI. It is a disappointing news for several Indian cricket fans. They cannot watch the likes of Mumbai, Delhi, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Bengal live in the Ranji Trophy in the first round. This has also led to a massive goof-up by the BCCI, who mistakenly wrote Sarfaraz Khan instead of Musheer Khan. The latter was out for a duck against Jammu & Kashmir.
3 Ranji Trophy matches available for live streaming
- Saurashtra vs Karnataka – Niranjan Shah Stadium, Rajkot
