Former Pakistan pacer Ihsanullah, who retired at the age off 22 only to make a U-turn in 24 hours, has claimed that he can get rid of Abhishek Sharma within 3 deliveries. The Punjab opener was the leading run-scorer against PAK in the recently concluded Asia Cup 2025, amassing 110 runs from three games. Ihsanullah, who has never played against Sharma and has only featured in 4 T20Is made a tall claim, forgetting that most of the Pakistan bowlers failed to tackle Abhishek.
4 T20I old Pakistan veteran’s bold claim about Abhishek Sharma
In a video that has gone viral on social media, Ihsanullah has claimed that Abhishek wouldn’t be able to face him. Issuing a rather bizarre challenge, the Pakistan bowler vowed to get rid of the batter in just three deliveries. The bowler last featured in a T20I way back in 2023 following which he has been sidelined due to an elbow injury and lack of game time.
“If I play against India and get to bowl to Abhishek Sharma, he will not be able to hit me. I will only need 3 balls to dismiss him easily,” said the bowler in a viral video.
Sharma managed to register scores of 31, 74 and 5 against Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025. He unleashed his fury on the arch-rivals in the Super Fours clash on September 21 where he struck 6 fours and five sixes.
The fiery Indian opener finished as the leading run-getter of the tournament in the recently concluded Asia Cup 2025. He amassed 314 runs from 7 matches at an average of 44.85. He scored three fifties and struck 32 fours and 19 sixes in the tourney. Sharma witnessed a rare failure against Pakistan in the Asia Cup final where he was dismissed for a single digit score.
Abhishek also reached the highest-ever rating on the Men’s T20I batter’s rankings, shattering a five-year-old record held by England’s Dawid Malan previously.
