India cricket team’s Ravindra Jadeja has achieved his career-best ranking as a batter after a 104-run knock that helped him reach the 25th position in the ICC rankings for Test batters after the IND vs WI 1st Test. The southpaw, who not only scored 104 runs but also took 4 wickets in the game, has also retained his position as the number 1 all-rounder in Tests. Meanwhile, pacer Mohammed Siraj has jumped three places to the 12th position on the rankings for Test bowlers.
Jadeja, Siraj attain career-best positions in Test Player Rankings
Jadeja has moved six spots up from 31st to 25th in the rankings for batters in Tests, marking his career-best. The southpaw was one among the three centurions in India’s 1st Test against WI in Ahmedabad. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rishabh Pant are the only two Indian cricketers in the top ten, ranked 7th and 8th respectively. India captain Shubman Gill is ranked 13th, with 722 rating points to his name.
Meanwhile, Siraj – who narrowly missed out on his first five-wicket haul at home – has jumped three places on the rankings for Test bowlers to the 12th position. He finished with figures of 7/71 in the IND vs WI 1st Test, out-bowling Jasprit Bumrah. This also marks the first time he has crossed 700 rating points on the ICC’s rankings for bowlers in the longest format of the game.
Other notable movements in the rankings for bowlers is that of Kuldeep Yadav – who has moved 7 places to the 21st position.
Other gainers from the Indian team include K.L. Rahul and Dhruv Jurel, who have both progressed in the batting rankings after notching centuries. Rahul has moved up four places to 35th and Jurel is up 20 places to 65th after his maiden Test century.
