India Women have been forced to make one change to their playing XI against Pakistan, with Amanjot Kaur missing out due to illness

India women’s cricket team have made one change to their playing XI for their 2nd ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 game against Pakistan. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur won the toss and opted to xx first at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Sunday. Amanjot Kaur is out of the playing XI due to an illness and hence, Renuka Singh Thakur will replace her in the line-up.

Amanjot was one of India’s standout performers with the bat in the team’s tournament opener against Sri Lanka Women. Coming in to bat at number 8, she slammed 57 runs off 56 deliveries, striking 5 fours and one six. Her onslaught towards the end of the innings helped India reach 269 runs at the end of their 1st innings in Guwahati.

One unfortunate change – Amanjot isn’t playing (she’s ill), Renuka Thakur replaces well. We’ve gelled well as a team and looking forward to today’s contest,” Harmanpreet said after losing the toss.

Meanwhile, India’s bowling attack will be boosted with the addition of Renuka to the playing XI for the tie against Pakistan. Thakur was last seen in action during the warm-up game against New Zealand. She has 38 wickets from 21 WODIs and averages 23.10 with the ball.
