Drama never ceases to exist in an India vs Pakistan clash. Even before a ball has been bowled, the Asia Cup Final has served up a tense start to the proceedings. India captain Suryakumar Yadav skipped the trophy picture in the build up for the contest. Meanwhile Ravi Shastri and Waqar Younis were both present at the toss at PCB’s request.
IND vs PAK Asia Cup Final: Waqar Younis, Ravi Shastri at toss after PCB request
Ahead of the Asia Cup Final, PCB requested the ACC for neutral presenter at the toss. Pakistan boycotted post match duties in the first IND vs PAK of the tournament with Sanjay Manjrekar present. However, Salman Ali Agha did speak to the media following the second game, with Urooj Mumtaz on duty.
ACC approved the request and Waqar Younis joined Ravi Shastri at the toss. While Shastri interacted with India captain Suryakumar Yadav, Younis spoke to Salman Ali Agha. As has been the norm this tournament, there were no handshakes or pleasantries involved.
India captain Suryakumar Yadav also skipped the customary picture with the Asia Cup trophy. Salman Ali Agha posed alone with the trophy.
