The India vs Pakistan final was full of spice. Before, during, and after the match. It started with two different toss presenters and ended with India winning without actually receiving the trophy. Tilak Varma became a national hero. Jasprit Bumrah got animated. Arshdeep Singh might face ICC sanctions. Away from all of this, the BCCI made quite a lot of internal changes.

India wins without Asia Cup trophy
The India vs Pakistan match started with two different presenters for the toss. But that wasn’t even the biggest controversy. After India won, the trophy ceremony was delayed for about an hour. Why? India refused to receive the trophy from Mohsin Naqvi. So, in the end, India won and wasn’t given a trophy.

Tilak Varma channels inner Kohli
Tilak Varma played an all-timer of a knock in the India vs Pakistan final. Having entered the middle when the score was 10/2, Tilak saw India through to claim the Asia Cup trophy. He ended unbeaten on 69 and was awarded the ‘Player of the Match’ award.

Bumrah’s reply to Haris Rauf
Haris Rauf had mocked the Indian crowd with his ‘plane celebration’ on September 21. The Pakistani pacer had invoked a war reference during the game and was sanctioned by the ICC. It turns out Jasprit Bumrah took offence to it. After dismissing him in the Asia Cup final, Bumrah gave Rauf a ‘plane crash’ send-off as a reply.

ICC complaint against Arshdeep Singh

Shreyas Iyer in contract trouble
Shreyas Iyer might be demoted in the BCCI central contract next year. That’s what former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra thinks. His comments come after Shreyas’ decision to take a 6-month rest from red-ball cricket. Aakash thinks others will leapfrog him as he only plays ODI cricket for India.

BCCI change rules, administrators & selectors
BCCI have elected Mithun Manhas as their president at their AGM. RP Singh and Harbhajan Singh have been elected as Central and South Zone selectors. BCCI has also decided to pay those cricketers an additional INR 1 crore who play 14 first-class matches in a season. Lastly, the board has also changed its eligibility rule for under-19 and under-16 cricketers to play in the IPL. Going forward, they’ll need to have played at least one first-class match to be considered for the auction.
