India cricket team opener Abhishek Sharma has created history! At just 25 years of age, the batter has joined the likes of Virat Kohli and Babar Azam to have 900+ rating points in ICC rankings in T20Is. His exploits in the ongoing Asia Cup has cemented his position as the no.1 batter in T20Is.

Abhishek Sharma on same league as Babar, Virat

+rating points for batters in T20Is. The list includes the likes of Virat, Babar, Klaasen, Finch, SKY and Malan. Sharma is currently the top run-getter in Asia Cup, with 173 runs to his name from 4 innings, with a strike rate of 208.43.

Team India stars have secured the number 1 rankings across departments. The no.1 T20I team is India. The number 1 batter, bowler and all-rounder are Abhishek, Varun Chakravarthy and Hardik Pandya respectively.

Sharma is reportedly in the running for a spot in India’s squad for the IND vs AUS ODI series which is scheduled to begin from October 19 onwards. The southpaw’s sizzling performances in the ongoing Asia Cup 2025 has reportedly paved way for his possible debut in the 50-over format for India

India have not lost a single game so far in Asia Cup 2025. Suryakumar Yadav and co. started off their campaign with a 9-wicket win against UAE followed by a 7-wicket win against Pakistan. They then defeated Oman by 21 runs in their final group stage game. A nail-biting contest against Pakistan in the Super 4 tie ended in a 6-wicket win. India will now face Bangladesh in their next tie on Wednesday.
