DRS, Sept 23: PCB writes to ICC, Shreyas Iyer to skip India A match & IND vs PAK rivalry doesn't exist?

The PCB has written to ICC again after the second India vs Pakistan match. Speaking of the game, Suryakumar Yadav defended Jasprit Bumrah’s performance. He also stated that there is no rivalry between the two teams. Pakistan players are boycotting the Indian media and have been lambasted for their poor conduct on the field. Lastly, Shreyas Iyer has decided to pull out of the India A match against Australia A.

No rivalry between India & Pakistan

After convincingly beating Pakistan twice in a week’s span, India captain Suryakumar Yadav, in the post-match press conference, stated that there’s no cricket rivalry between the two nations anymore. He added that the clash has been one-sided for more than a decade now, and people should stop labelling it as a rivalry.

PCB’s complaint to ICC

PCB has lodged a complaint with the ICC regarding a controversial catch in the India vs Pakistan match. The issue of contention was Sanju Samson’s catch that dismissed in-form Fakhar Zaman. The PCB believes that 3rd umpire Ruchira Palliyaguruge incorrectly ruled the Pakistani opener out.

Nitish Reddy still injured

Shreyas Iyer won’t feature in the India A vs Australia A 2nd unofficial Test. Named captain, the 30-year-old has informed the BCCI that he wishes to take a break and has returned to Mumbai. Nitish Kumar Reddy, who missed the first game, won’t feature either, as he’s yet to recover from his knee injury.

Pakistan players are boycotting Indian journalists at the Asia Cup. After the India vs Pakistan match, Salman Ali Agha came to address the press, but Pakistan’s media manager, Naeem Gilani, ensured that only Pakistani journalists were given the chance to ask questions.

Pakistan players acting childish

Haris Rauf and Sahibzada Farhan have been lambasted by Deep Dasgupta. The former Indian cricketer called out Farhan for his gun celebration after scoring a fifty, labelling him as insensitive and showing ‘bachpana’. Haris tried to enact the skirmish scenes between the air forces of both nations. Highlighting these two incidents, Deep stated that because Pakistani cricketers aren’t focused, the rivalry with India doesn’t exist anymore.

Suryakumar Yadav defends Bumrah

After Jasprit Bumrah was hit for 45 runs in 4 overs against Pakistan, Suryakumar Yadav had to defend his bowler’s defence. The India captain stated that the pacer is bound to have a bad day every once in a while, and that he’s not a robot.
