The secretary of the Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) has revealed when the squad for the IND vs WI Test series will be selected. The two-match Test series is scheduled to begin from October 2 onwards, with Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad set to host the first Test. Two new individuals, reportedly RP Singh and Pragyan Ojha, are expected to replace two selectors in the existing selection committee. However, it remains to be seen if he old one will do the selection for the WI Tests or not.

As per Times of India, BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia informed that the selection of the squad for the IND vs WI Test series will take place on September 23 or 24. The official told the publication that the meeting of the members of the selection committee will be held virtually.
“Selection for the Indian Test team for the upcoming Test series against West Indies will be done on Sept 23 or 24… selection meeting will be online,” Saikia told reporters at the BCCI headquarters.
The series against the West Indies will mark India’s first home series in the ongoing World Test Championship 2025/27 cycle. Shubman Gill, who took over the reins of the team from Rohit Sharma earlier in May, led the Men in Blue to a 2-2 draw in the series against England earlier in July.
Meanwhile, the West Indies have already announced their squad for the series against India. The visitors will hold a 6-day camp between September 24 and 29 in Ahmedabad to prepare for the two-match series. The Indian team, on the other hand, will assemble in Ahmedabad on September 29, one day after he Asia Cup 2025 final.
