Poor show by Indian bowlers
Coincidentally, Australian women matches their highest-score too. Their previous instance of 412 had come in 1997, in the World Cup against Denmark. Meanwhile, coming back to the current match, there was mediocrity all around. Kranti Gaud, India’s new pace hope leaked 56 runs in 6 overs. Renuka Singh returned with figures of 2/79. Radha Yadav was poor with 0/48 in 4 overs.
Spinner Arundhati Reddy was the poorest of the lot, as she was smacked all around the park. Her 3/86 is the second-worst bowling effort in Indian history. Priya Mishra had recorded the worst 1/88 in 10 overs vs AUS in 2024. On the other hand, the Aussie batters were excellent.

Opener Georgia Voll scored 81 in 68 deliveries, Ellyse Perry scored 68 from 72, Beth Mooney smashed 138 from 75, and Ashleigh Gardener scored 39 from 24. This performance is only a testament to the fact, that Harmanpreet Kaur’s team isn’t the best against the best in the world.
That said, India had won their first ODI against Australia after a gap of four years, in the last match. They had scored 292, and then went on to win by over 100 runs.
