'Focused on cricket' India's batting coach on IND vs PAK clash

India have their eyes on just cricket ahead of the IND vs PAk clash in Asia Cup 2025 reveals batting coach Sitanshu Kotak

India’s batting coach Sitanshu Kotak believes the Indian team is focused on their cricket ahead of their IND vs PAK clash on Sunday. The India vs Pakistan game in Asia cup 2025 will be the first meeting between the two sides since the Pahalgam terror attack earlier this year. While calls for boycott are ringing loud, Suryakumar Yadav and Co remain steadfast in their approach to the game.

It will be a competitive game: India batting coach on IND vs PAK clash

Sitanshu Kotak revealed the players and staff are only focused on their cricket. Kotak was quizzed on whether the Indian team would be able to block all the noise surrounding the clash. The Indian coach simply responded saying once the BCCI made their stance clear, the players had all their attention on training.

“For the players and for us. Once the BCCI says and they are aligned with the government, we are here to prepare and we are here to play. It will be a competitive game. An India-Pakistan game is always a competitive game. So, we would rather focus on that,” Kotak said.

Kotak’s comments come after an India legends side featuring Yuvraj Singh and Shikhar Dhawan had twice abandoned their game against Pakistan in July.

“Once we are here to play, I think players are focused on playing cricket. I personally don’t think they have anything in mind apart from playing cricket. And that’s what we focus on,” he concluded.

Ahead of the India vs Pakistan match on Sep 14 in Asia Cup, IPL chairman Arun Dhumal once again clarified BCCI’s stance on the matter.

“I would like to wish Team India all the best. I think the government has clarified its position. We are not going to play Pakistan, but we are going to play them in ACC/ICC events. So we will follow what the government says,” Dhumal told ANI.

The Sports Ministry of India also finalised a policy on playing Pakistan.
