Recently, the news of India ODI skipper Rohit Sharma clearing the yo-yo test at the CoE, Bengaluru, made the headlines. His fans were pleasantly surprised to see his major transformation, proving his fitness as well. Now, with the India vs Australia series just a month away, he is leaving no stone unturned to be in his best shape, and prepare for the matches ahead.
Rohit Sharma ready for India-Australia ODIs
On Thursday, the 38-year-old uploaded a video of himself, training in what looked like the Jio Stadium in Navi Mumbai.
Team India is scheduled to play three ODIs in Australia between October 19 and 25, and this would be the first time since the Champions Trophy 2025, that Rohit Sharma would be playing a match for the country. Earlier, there were estimates that he would participate in the IND A vs AUS A series as well, but that is unlikely for now.
Won’t play in IND A vs AUS A series
“See it’s highly unlikely that they will play the three India A games. No call has been taken on that and it will not be forced upon them either. Only if they need some game time, you could see them play one or even two games before the Australia ODIs. But nothing has been finalised yet. They are very much fit and available for the Australia ODIs,” a senior BCCI official told TimesofIndia.com.
There have been a lot of question marks raised over Rohit’s availability for the 2027 World Cup. But the cricketer is yet to respond on any such query. In fact, there is still two years to go for the tournament. By then, Rohit will be 39-40, but still be an asset to the team, given what he brings to the table.
