Good or bad, Rajasthan Royals seem to be going through some major transition at the moment. Prior to IPL 2026, the team parted ways with head coach Rahul Dravid and has now bid adieu to CEO Jake Lush McCrum, as per a report in Cricbuzz. The report suggests that McCrum himself called up a few IPL colleagues from other franchises about his exit.
RR & CEO Jake Lush McCrum Part Ways
Earlier, it was revealed that the job of Kumar Sangakkara was also in danger. As per a previous report by the same publication, some major decisions were to be taken in a meeting in London. Vikram Rathour was set to be retained as the batting coach though. Assistant coach Trevor Penny might just get a bigger role at the franchise, but nothing is certain as of now.
Future Uncertain for Sanju Samson?
Apart from this, there is a lot of uncertainty over Sanju Samson‘s future in the team. Many publications revealed that there were talks of IPL trade between RR and CSK for Samson, but never materialised. Same was said about KKR, who seemed to be interested in the batter, but once again the deal didn’t go through.
In a podcast with R Ashwin, Samson had clarified though, that he wanted to stay with the franchise that first picked him. But rumours have it that there are three camps in the team right now — with Riyan Parag, Yasashvi Jaiswal and Samson in the center. There is also a lot of debate regarding the captaincy.
