The wait for the Asia Cup is finally over. In a few hours’ time from now, Afghanistan and Hong Kong will kick off the multi-nation tournament that was in limbo for the majority of the time. However, despite all the back and forth between arch-nemeses India and Pakistan, cricket is the real winner, as fans will get to see the eight best Asian teams battle it out for the glory. This Asia Cup will be played in the T20 format, keeping the T20 World Cup 2026 in mind. Asia Cup 2025 will begin on September 9, with the final on September 28. The tournament will be entirely hosted in the UAE, with the India vs Pakistan match slated for September 10. This time, the Asia Cup will be held in T20 format instead of ODIs ahead of the T20 World Cup 2026.
