Earlier this week, the BCCI invited fresh applications for a new lead sponsor, with the last day to buy the Invitation of Expression of Interest being September 12. The submission of the bid documents needs to be completed by September 16, while the IEOI can be purchased for a non-refundable fee of INR 5,90,000, as per a release by the board. This time around, the BCCI is utmost careful regarding the team sponsor, and the ‘Dream11’ situation doesn’t arise again, they have come up with the banned & prohibited brands list too.

Dream11 ends deal with BCCI

Speaking to news agency ANI, BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia informed that the board and Dream11 are discontinuing their relationship. The decision comes after the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill 2025 came in as a law following the signature of President Draupadi Murmu. As a result, Team India are now left without a sponsor. An Indian Express report claimed that the BCCI will float a tender in the future to find a new sponsor.
