India keeper Dhruv Jurel is set to miss another opportunity to lead the Central Zone in the ongoing Duleep Trophy. The youngster is suffering from a groin injury, and had missed the first match due to the same reason.. Rajat Patidar was named the captain. Now, as per a report in the Times of India, the keeper is set to miss the second match as well, which happens to the semi-final against West Zone, from September 4.
Dhruv Jurel Out Due to Groin Injury
With that, Dhruv Jurel has been replaced by UP keeper Upendra Yadav. The other change in the team is, Kuldeep Yadav was released from the squad, due to Asia Cup 2025 duties, as Yash Thakur was given a chance. As far as the team performance is concerned, they were totally clinical in their quarters match against North East Zone.
Upendra Yadav Named Replacement
The team won on the basis of first innings lead, after they posted 532/4 in the first innings. Danish Malewar was the star of the show, who scored his maiden double ton in FC. Patidar also went on to score a quickfire century (125) in the first innings. In the second innings, Shubham Sharma scored a ton.
Interestingly, the wicket turned out to be quite flat, and chinaman Kuldeep went wicketless in the entire match.
