The Kerala Cricket League 2025 is seeing some solid performances across teams. While Sanju Samson has been churning out great knocks, an unlikely star has emerged from the league on Saturday. In the clash between Adani Trivandrum and Calicut Globstars, Salman Nizar went berserk as he slammed 86 from just 26 deliveries for his side Calicut.
Salman Nizar Scores 86 from 26
The southpaw went on to create a world record as well, as he cracked 11 sixes in 12 legal balls, that left everyone in awe. That happened after Salman Nizar had a relatively slow start to his innings. He could only muster 17 in 13 deliveries. And then in the next 13, he scored 69.
Slams 6 sixes in last over
In the 19th over of the first innings, on the bowling of seasoned Basil Thampi, Salman hit five back-to-back sixes. Then in the last over, he smashed Abhijit Praveen for six sixes, replicating Yuvraj Singh from the 2007 T20 World Cup. His innings also meant, that Calicut went from 115/6 in 18 overs, to 186 in 20 overs.
That also meant, Calicut went on to win the match by 13 runs in the end. None of the Trivandrum batters could score at the desired pace. Speaking of the points table, this win means that Calicut now go second. Kochi Blue Tigers lead the charts currently, while Trivandrum is languishing at the bottom.
