Team India players to leave separately for UAE on Sep 4, net bowlers Prasidh & Washi to stay at home

The Indian players will hold their first net session in Dubai on September 5, while their first Asia Cup match will be against UAE on 10th.

Team India skipper Suryakumar Yadav will leave for the UAE on September 4, for the upcoming Asia Cup 2025, as per a fresh report. In what is change from the team tradition, all the other players will also disperse for the stipulated venue from respective locations, rather than leaving together from one place.

First Training Session for Asia Cup on Sep 5

“All the players will arrive in Dubai by September 4 evening and the first nets session will be held on September 5 at the ICC Academy. Factoring in the logistical convenience, the players will be allowed to fly in to Dubai from their respective cities,” a senior BCCI official was quoted as saying by PTI on conditions of anonymity.

“Obviously, a few will travel from Mumbai but to ask some of the others to first come to Mumbai and then fly to Dubai doesn’t make sense. In any case, Dubai is a short duration flight compared to other international flights,” the source added.

Prasidh Krishna & Washington Sundar to Stay in India

Meanwhile, India will first face the UAE on September 10, while the IND vs PAK match will happen on the 14th. If both the teams do make it to the final, they will face off thrice in the tournament. That said, some of the Indian players in the squad are playing the Duleep Trophy — Harshit Rana, Arshdeep Singh and Kuldeep Yadav would leave on the same date too.

As far as the net bowlers — Prasidh Krishna and Washington Sundar are concerned, they won’t be traveling to Dubai with the rest of the squad.

India’ squad for Asia Cup: Suryakumar Yadav (C), Shubman Gill (VC), Abhishek Sharma, Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya, Shivam Dube, Axar Patel, Jitesh Sharma (WK), Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, Varun Chakaravarthy, Kuldeep Yadav, Sanju Samson (WK), Harshit Rana, Rinku Singh
