IPL trade rumour: KKR interested in landing KL Rahul deal, could give him captaincy

KL Rahul has become nothing short of a stalwart in the IPL, and this year, he scored 539 runs in the 13 matches he played.

IPL trade window for the 2026 season has been, all talk and no show till now. Sanju Samson moving to various franchises keeps getting attention from time-to-time, but it seems there are no worthy buyers. Now, it seems tat RR will put him in auction. Now, as per a fresh report, or and IPL trade rumour going around on social media, DC’s KL Rahul might be on KKR’s radar, and not just that, he could be made the skipper as well.

KL Rahul on KKR’s Radar?

Nonetheless, KL Rahul could be a value addition to the team. They are in desperate need of a worthy keeper-batter too, after Quinton de Kock fared poorly in the season, scoring only 152 runs in 8 games. On the other hand, Rahul ended with 539 runs in the season, with an average of 53.90.

If the rumours are to be further believed, it could be a multi-player deal, involving some amount of money as well. That, since DC might not be that willing to let go someone of the stature of Rahul. That said, another interesting rumour suggests, that after Samson deal fell apart, CSK could be interested in the keeper-batter.

In Need of a New Skipper

That just goes on to show that the Bengaluru player is much-in-demand and could land a massive deal. But that only depends if DC would be okay to let him go. They might not be interested after all, especially looking at the way things panned out for LSG, after not retaining Rahul.

Once again, no one can really confirm these developments, but have become the flavour of the season. The IPL Auction 2026 could be held in Jan or Feb next year, as the early reports have suggested so far.
