After successful IPL, Bhuvneshwar Kumar makes a statement in UPT20, says "I'm fit"

Bhuvneshwar Kumar last played for India in Nov 2022, but has been impressive off late with his bowling returns.

India pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been impressive in his performances in the shortest format for quite some time now, but India comeback looks slightly difficult at this point of time. In the IPL 2025, he played a pivotal role in RCB lifting their maiden title, where he picked up 17 wickets in 14 matches, with an economy of 9.

In the ongoing Uttar Pradesh Premier League 2025, he has played two matches for Lucknow Falcons, has picked up two wickets, and his economy has been only 6. So, is Bhuvneshwar Kumar hopeful of getting noticed again by the Indian selectors? While speaking to RevSportz, the 35-year-old clarified, that he does not go into any league with the ambition of getting noticed.

“I don’t go into a league thinking about the returns it might fetch me. There are people to watch our performances, and my job is always to play good cricket as I enjoy the game. My only target is to make that team win when going into any league.” Meanwhile, he seems in good shape and also went on to reveal that he is fully fit.

So, not only is he making a small statement with his performances, but also putting it on record, that he is fully fit. “Performance is a different thing, but yes, if I am playing back-to-back, then it definitely proves that I am fit,” the pacer added. Talking further on his preparation, he said, “Just that with advancing age, the preparation might slightly change to be able to care for the body more. So, I plan my fitness and preparation according to the type of tournament, the duration of the tournament and frequency of matches.

As far as the UPT20 league is concerned, Kashi Rudras top the points table with 4 wins in as many matches. The next on the list is Gaur Gorakhpur Lions, and Falcons are in the third place. Kanpur Superstars are the only winless team in the competition.
