Sarkar, Miraz miss out as Bangladesh announce Asia Cup 2025 squad
Bangladesh announced their Asia Cup 2025 squad on Friday. Wicketkeeper Nurul Hasan earned a recall after 3 years after a strong few years in domestic cricket. Saif Hassan also makes the cut after being more than a year out on the fringes. The duo are currently featuring for Bangladesh in the Top end T20, but will join up with the rest of the squad before the tournament.
The selectors decided to drop Mehidy Hasan Miraz to the reserves after a poor run of form in the format. Miraz, the ODI captain, picked up just 2 wickets in the series against Sri Lanka. Mehidy has a strike rate of 116.75 in T20Is, and only 18 wickets. Mahedi Hasan was picked a s the preffered spin option following his heroics in Sri Lanka.
