Sanju Samson isn't likely to play more Kerala Cricket League (KCL) 2025 matches.

‘Selfless’ is an adjective that you don’t associate with every player. However, Sanju Samson’s case is different. He is as selfless of a player that you can get, always putting his team first. We have seen him in his batting approach, risking his wicket to put his team in pole position. But now, a shocking development has come in. Apparently, Samson played the Kerala Cricket League (KCL) match on August 21 despite having a fever. In fact, he reached to the ground straight from the hospital.

Hospital-Stadium-Hospital for Sanju Samson

According to MyKhel, Samson was running with fever and even had a cough. However, he didn’t shy away from his commitments to play in the KCL 2025. Making his KCL debut for Kochi Blue Tigers, who paid a whopping ₹26.8 lakh at the auction (the most in history) to fetch the Kerala superstar.

However, in the side’s opening game against Adani Trivandrum Royals, Sanju didn’t bat, as he was slotted in at five. Many thought this could be because he’s trying to prepare for the Asia Cup 2025. As it turns out, Sanju wasn’t 100%, and it was in his best interest that his health doesn’t

Sanju has fever and he also has a cough. His health is currently not well and he has been resting. He was at the hospital on Friday, and now he is at home,” a person very close to Sanju Samson told MyKhel.

Apparently, Sanju was at the Trivandrum Hospital before the match that started at 7:45 PM. It gave Sanju the entire afternoon to rest and doctors to diagnose his condition. With him being the face of the league and an extravaganza that was set up in the form of a grand opening ceremony, Sanju might have thought he needs to be there.

Hence, he played the role, albeit in a moderate way. He fielded for the entirety of the first innings. Meanwhile, he wasn’t needed as Kochi chased down 98 with Sanju’s elder brother and captain of the side Saly Samson scored an unbeaten 30-ball 50. Right after the fixture, Sanju went straight to the hospital once again before getting discharged. Also, the same report suggests that the Indian star might just turn up for Kochi’s next game as well which is on August 23, Saturday.
