After securing a narrow win in the first ODI, the expectation was, that the Tahila Mcgrath-led Australia A would come hard at the India A side, the but the latter was well-prepared. Chasing a total of 266 on a wicket that wasn’t the easiest to bat on, the visitors crossed the finish line with two wickets in hand, and a ball to spare, to clinch the series, with a match still to go.
India A take series vs Australia A
Yastika Bhatia (66) on top, followed by skipper Radha Yadav (60), and Tanuja Kanwar (50) fought hard, and did not let the match slip away, even when the team was reduced to 83/4 at one stage. In fact, a lot of credit goes to Prema Rawat as well, who scored an unbeaten 32, and forged a 68-run partnership with Kanwar, after Radha was dismissed at the score of 193.
The highlight of their partnership was, the duo never looked to go for boundaries, and ran well between the wickets, to chase down the target. On the other hand, the Aussie bowlers weren’t bad by any stretch of imagination, but just couldn’t close the match. Kim Garth was the pick of the bowlers, who tied down the runs, and returned with figures of 1/33.
Radha Yadav & Yastika Bhatia Star
Earlier in the day, the Indian team saw a few good bowling performances too. Saima Thakor was excellent with 2/30 in her eight overs, and Minnu Mani picked up 3/46 in her quota. As far as Australian batting is concerned, veteran Alyssa Healy scored 91 in 87 deliveries and Kim Garth chipped in with 41 from 45 lower down the order.
