No Maharaja Trophy 2025 at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, fate of Women's World Cup matches & IPL 2026 in doubt

KSCA have moved the Maharaja Trophy 2025 out of the M Chinnaswamy stadium, less than 2 months before Women's World Cup 2025

The fallout from the RCB stampede continues. The KSCA Maharaja T20, scheduled to be hosted at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium has now been relocated to Mysuru. That has put doubt on all future games at the stadium, including the 5 Women’s World Cup games and the IPL 2026.

Maharaja Trophy moved to Mysuru, Women’s WC games in limbo

As per ESPNCricinfo, the Maharaja Trophy has been relocated to Mysuru for the 2025 season. The Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) have failed to gain clearance to host the tournament in Bengaluru from the police. That comes after a state-committee ruled the M Chinnaswamy Stadium unsafe for large-scale events.

The Maharaja Trophy is set to begin on August 11, leaving KSCA scrambling for options. The tournament has since been moved to Mysuru, with games at the Wadeyar Stadium. The association are since adding additional makeshift stands, pitches and broadcasting arrangements.

The shift comes as a huge blow to KSCA. Bengaluru is set to host 5 Women’s World Cup games later this year. The report states the ICC are not too worried about moving games out of the city. Should push come to shove, Chennai or Hyderabad could come into the picture. Indore, Guwahati, Vishakapatnam and Colombo are the other venues.
