India Cricket Team's records at Kennington Oval, London

India have played 15 Test matches at the Kennington Oval, winning just two matches since 1936.

Kennington Oval Cricket Ground is the most visited stadium by India in England. The India Cricket Team have played a total of 32 matches at this venue since 1936, winning 9 matches. Established in 1845, Kennington Oval in London has a capacity of 23,500. Cricket came to a halt at Oval when the stadium was repurposed for World War I between 1914 and 1918 and then again between 1939 and 1945. The venue is called the Oval because of its original shape in 1845. However, the stadium has undergone several renovations since then.

Despite playing their first match in 1936 at the Oval, India had to wait 35 years to register their first win. In ODIs, India’s first win at the Oval came in 1986. On the last tour to England, India won their Test at the venue against the hosts. But they also suffered heartbreak when India lost the WTC Final 2023 to Australia. India will take on England in their 5th Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy on July 31 at Kennington Oval.
