India spinner Shreyanka Patil’s return to competitive cricket has been further delayed due to her prolonged injury. As per a report in Cricbuzz, she is set to miss the IND A series vs Australia in August. Apart from her, leg-spinner Priya Mishra has also been ruled put of the series.
Shreyanka Patil Yet to Get Fitness Clearance
“Both players remain under the care of the BCCI Medical Team at the Centre of Excellence and are currently undergoing their Return-to-Play protocols,” stated a BCCI release. Meanwhile, India keeper-batter Yastika Bhatia has been drafted in the One-day team for now, while Dhara Gujjar and Prema Rawat will be the spin replacements.
Bhatia could be in the loop for the ODI World Cup, and experience against AUS A might just come in handy for her, for the tournament that is scheduled to take part in India. As far as this series is concerned, IND A and AUS A will play three T20Is, three ODIs and one four-day match, from August 7 to August 24.
