DRS July 14: Karun Nair's last Test, India & Siraj to be fined, Rahane's revelation and Lord Washington Sundar

14 wickets fell on what was an enthralling Day 4 of IND vs ENG 3rd Test at Lord’s on Sunday. India managed to drag themselves back into the competition with some brilliant bowling, thanks to Washington Sundar and Jasprit Bumrah. However, England put themselves back in the driver’s seat towards the end of the day by reducing the visitors down to 4 wickets. The action packed day also saw some intense action between players, some of them which could invite fines. On that note, let us take a look at the top headlines from Sunday.

Karun Nair’s run over?

when Karun Nair made it to the Indian Test team after a gap of nine years, he would have wanted to make it count. The 33-year-old started the England tour in great fashion, when he scored a double ton for India A vs England Lions, but come the Test series, it has been a real struggle. After failing in the 1st innings, Nair was once again forced to depart cheaply in the 2nd. Read more here.

Sundar spins web on England

Washington Sundar bowled on day 4 of the Test, without a great deal of assistance from the wicket.. his spell of 3/19 in 9 overs, just tilted the scales further in India’s favour. In the third innings of the IND vs ENG Test, where it seemed like, the pacers would once again rule the roost, a not-100% fit Akash Deep meant, India had to largely contend with a bowler less, and Washi got a decent enough spell to bowl. India, England to lose points?

India and England are both at the risk of being docked points for slow over rare in the ongoing IND vs ENG 3rd Test. Play was extended by an extra half-hour on all 3 days at Lord’s, but more than a session was lost. Captains Shubman Gill and Ben Stokes are set to cop massive fines for slow rate. Read more here.

Who is guilty?

Mohammed Siraj drew first blood on Day 4 of IND vs ENG 3rd Test at Lord’s as he got rid of England opener Ben Duckett early in the 1st session. Following the dismissal, the animated Indian pacer was seen celebrating in the face of the batter, and may have unintenionally barged his shoulder as well. Replays showed that it was Duckett who had gone towards Siraj, resulting in the shoulder barge. Rahane’s explosive claim

Rahane, who last played for India during the 2023 West Indies tour, was dropped from the squad soon after and has since toiled in domestic cricket. In a candid chat with Sky Sports on Day 3 at Lord’s, Rahane admitted his love for the red-ball format remains as strong as ever. Bangladesh trash Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka cricket team suffered a batting collapse in the SL vs BAN 1st T20I, leading to the Tigers winning by 83 runs. Contributions came in from all quarters of the Litton Das-led unit as the visitors ensured they started off the series win a win.
