Digvesh Rathi has faced the ire of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The mystery spinner has been fined twice for his ‘notebook celebration’ and has already paid Rs 5,62,500 for his transgressions.
Digvesh Rathi vs Abhishek Sharma
But Digvesh doesn’t care. He’s continued to pull out his trademark celebration, irrespective. And with the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the cusp of elimination from IPL 2025, Digvesh got the crucial wicket of Abhishek Sharma. The southpaw was single-handedly taking the game away.
Abhishek had already scored 59 runs from just 19 balls. The match may have already slipped away, but if Abhishek continued to bat for a couple of overs, it was certainly over. But Digvesh deceived him and got him caught out. If any, this was the moment that called for his ‘notebook celebration’.
And he pulled it out. He wrote Abhishek’s name in his ledger and motioned for him to walk off. This didn’t sit well for the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) opener. He muttered something to Digvesh, who came running in to confront him. They exchanged a few choice words before the umpires came in between and separated them.
