"Evolving" CSK will beat "inconsistent" SRH, spin strength key: Bangar

Both CSK and SRH have only managed to win two games so far in IPL 2025

Former India batting coach Sanjay Bangar has thrown his weight behind CSK to come out on top in the game against SRH. The five-time champions will take on Pat Cummins and co. in what will be a battle between bottom placed teams. Both SRH and CSK have managed to win only two games so far in IPL 2025 and are on the verge of being eliminated.

“CSK will win against SRH”

Speaking on Kuhl Fans Match Center on JioHotstar, Bangar opined that CSK are evolving and are now focusing on youngsters. He pointed out that the spin-strength backed by captain MS Dhoni will be the key for CSK in the game against SRH.

I believe CSK will win against SRH. CSK’s spin strength, backed by MSD, will be key, and they’ll ensure there’s assistance for the spinners. The team is evolving, moving away from their earlier pattern with more focus on youngsters. SRH, on the other hand, has been inconsistent,” Bangar said.

CSK came under fire for playing conventional cricket that doesn’t suit T20s. The side has one of the poorest run rates in the powerplay and middle-overs, with the batters criticized for showing lack of intent.

However, in the last couple of games, CSK have attempted to shed the “dad’s army” tag. They did so by giving youngsters like Ayush Mhatre and Shaik Rasheed chances to feature in the playing XI. And it paid off as the youngsters displayed their abilities to play fearless cricket.

Meanwhile, SRH’s all-attack attitude has completely backfired in IPL 2025. Following their loss to MI in the previous game, captain Pat Cummins hinted at moving on from their current plan to a new one in order to overcome the odds stacked against them.
